BGW built a clothing brand around three timeless colours, making everyday fashion simpler, easier to choose, and free from shopping fatigue.
Shopping for basic clothes is surprisingly exhausting. A person decides they need a simple, plain shirt for everyday wear. But the moment they start looking, they are flooded with bright neon colours, heavy seasonal prints, and fast-changing trends. Retailers often assume that more options equal a better shopping experience. But the reality of modern consumer behaviour is quite the opposite. Less is more.
Giving shoppers hundreds of options does not necessarily make them happier. It can simply overwhelm them. For someone who wants a quiet, everyday outfit, this huge variety can feel like an unnecessary headache. That exact frustration is where the idea for a completely different kind of business began.
As a consumer, I have always preferred minimal clothing. My daily wardrobe naturally leaned towards black, grey, and white. The truth is, nobody wears fancy or luxurious clothes all the time. People save those expensive pieces for special occasions, weddings, or major events. Similarly, office workers have an entirely different set of formal clothes for the workplace.
But when someone is relaxing at home or stepping out for a quick errand, they do not want to overthink what they are wearing. After a long day in stiff office clothes, the first thing people want to do is change into something comfortable. They want a basic, reliable piece of clothing that feels good immediately.
Yet retail stores rarely cater to that simple need without forcing shoppers to search through piles of loud and unnecessary colours.
How Simplicity Cures Shopping Fatigue
That observation became the foundation of BGW. The name stands for Black, Grey, and White. We always wanted to keep the colour selection simple for consumers.
Instead of chasing fleeting trends, we built a brand exclusively around these three universal shades. Black, grey, and white do not belong to a specific age group, income bracket, or geographic location. Whether a customer lives in a busy metro city or a quiet Tier 3 town, these colours already form the quiet foundation of almost every wardrobe.
A plain grey jogger or a solid black T-shirt works just as well for a morning walk as it does for a casual evening meeting. By strictly limiting our colour palette, we make sure that every item a customer buys can easily match what they already own.
Today, a customer’s time is incredibly valuable. When someone needs a basic outfit, they usually already know what they want before they even open a shopping app. They think, “I need a sharp black hoodie” or “I need a clean white shirt.” They do not want to spend an hour scrolling through hundreds of unrelated, brightly coloured items to find it.

BGW was built specifically to close this gap. We wanted to create a dedicated space where buyers know exactly what they will find, eliminating unnecessary shopping fatigue. When a brand respects a buyer’s time by keeping the process straightforward, that buyer is more likely to return.
We launched this idea as an online brand in 2024, operating directly from our hometown in Bihar. I always wanted to build something meaningful from my home state.
Of course, the reality of running a business has been far from perfect. We did not start with decades of experience in the fashion industry. We made plenty of operational mistakes, misjudged certain details, and faced the challenges of building a retail supply chain from scratch.
Figuring out how to source the right quality of comfortable fabric and manage timely deliveries required a great deal of patience. But every mistake taught us a practical lesson, and every small customer win kept us moving forward.
What began as a personal frustration while shopping has evolved into a clear brand vision. BGW is no longer just about selling three specific colours. It is about deeply understanding consumer behaviour.
It is about proving that making fashion simple, reliable, and easy to choose can be a highly effective business strategy.
Our journey from Bihar is just getting started, but the core mission remains exactly the same: give people what they actually want and make the act of buying it incredibly easy.
